The founder of Empower S.E.L., an education program focused on social emotional learning, needed a fun, energetic visual identity for her growing brand. I worked closely with her to identify a motif that aligned with her brand values and expanded it to a full visual suite including paper collateral, promotional material, apparel and more.
The challenge was to create an optimistic, gender neutral and kid-friendly brand that could also appeal to educators and institutions. We landed on the firstbump graphic to convey cooperation, respect and mutual support. I used bold colors and a graphic—almost comic book—style to create the logo and supporting material that would resonate with all of the target viewers. Empower S.E.L. is doing meaningful work in a progressive and thoughtful way. The logo and visual identity that I developed are small but important aspects of that undertaking.
